Literary and Cultural Journal

SUMMARY
This is the first time, seven years after the first issue was published in 2000, that we have somewhat redesigned the journal, changed its format and made some changes in terms of its contents with the only aim – to have more texts of high quality published in the future.
This issue includes three units:
The first unit comprises essays presented at 4th International Pula Essay Days, the event already highly respected in this part of literary Europe. The topic which gathered intellectuals, not only writers, referred to 'Love and Hate'. It was presented by German, Slovene, Italian, Macedonian and Croatian essayists.
The second unit includes an essay about childhood and adolescence in Pula in 1950s, and about atmosphere in the literary club with young people of that time – 'Istarski borac', one of the first clubs as such in the ex-country.
The third section entitled 'Reviews' is the last unit where our reviewers, among others, write about books by Chitra Banerjee Divakaruni, Umberto Eco, Witold Gombrowicz, Imre Kertész, Herta Müller, etc.
