243 1953, which communists banned after a trial in 1980. Also, we remind you of the fact that the famous Croatian writer Vladimir Nazor (1876 – 1949) arrived to teach in Pazin 120 years ago. This Croatian Grammar School, the first Istrian secondary school where students were taught in Croatian, was violently closed when the Italian occupiers and fascists came to Istria in the 1920s. Finally, we give you insight into the suggested Pula Cultural Strategy (2023 – 2030), which is actually full of faults. You can thus read how some of the local writers, publishers and, generally speaking, book worms perceive the given document. The current journal issue finishes with critical notes on the fiction, poetry and essay pieces by contemporary Croatian writers, along with a review of a work about the Istrian political history.
